Fluoride
The factors which promote remineralization

Fluorine is a naturally occurring element and is often found in groundwater and daily foods as fluoride compounds derived from it. Fluoride combines with the natural minerals of teeth and helps make teeth stronger and more resistant to dental caries. In addition, fluoride can assist in promoting remineralization and can have an antibacterial effect. Fluoride is an essential tool in any caries preventive program.
