-42-Tooth Mousse2461 Comparative Study of Some Tests of Enamel MineralizationPoster Presentation3:45 PM–5:00 PM Mar 24, 2017CC, First Floor Authors:Authors:ZairaAkhmedova(Presenter)Central Scientific-Research Institute of Stomatologyand maxillofacial surgeryOlga Avraamova, Central Scientific-Research Institute of Stomatologyand maxillofacial surgeryMikhail Zhitkov, Central Scientific-Research Institute of Stomatologyand maxillofacial surgeryTatiana Kulajenko, Central Scientific-Research Institute of Stomatologyand maxillofacial surgeryKirillKnyazkov, Central Clinical Hospital of the Russian Academy of SciencesAbstract: Objectives: Improving the control of enamel caries level and the effectiveness of caries prevention. Methods: 80 patients, mean age of 35 years, were randomized into 2 groups. We assessed caries resistance by the Nedosekomethod (at base level only) and acidic biopsy with the calculation of the ratio of calcium-phosphorus (Ca/P ratio). The rate of enamel remineralizationwas measured by KOSRE test. Patients in both groups had a dental treatment, professional hygiene and by KOSRE test. Patients in both groups had a dental treatment, professional hygiene and instruction in oral hygiene. The test group patients additionally prescribed gel Tooth Mousse twice a day for 60 days. We performed acid biopsy at days 0, 7, 30, 60 and 180 and KOSRE test at day 30. The data were analysedusing Student's t-test and correlation coefficient. Results: The caries resistance in all patients was low, the mean CFE = 15, the Ca/P ratio –0.29. The correlation coefficient between the level of caries resistance and the Ca/P ratio was 0.72. By day 7 the acid biopsy results did not differ from baseline in both groups. In the test group Ca/P ratio increased by 22% (p <0.01) at day 30, 66% (p <0.005) at day 60 and 83% (p <0.005) at day 180. In the control group Ca/P ratio increased 5% at day 30 (p >0.1), 8% at day 60 (p day 180. In the control group Ca/P ratio increased 5% at day 30 (p >0.1), 8% at day 60 (p >0.1) and 12% at day 180 (p =0.05). Restoring the demineralizedenamel after biopsy in the control group occurred after 25 ±5 days, in the test group after 10 ±2 days (p <0.01).Conclusions: Acid enamel biopsy method allows to predict the development of caries and register even small changes in the state of enamel.Student PresenterDisclosure Statement:The submitter must disclose the names of the organizations with which any author have a relationship, the nature of the relationship, and the clinical or research area involved.
