The null hypothesis was that both post systems would be equally retentive. Methods: Thirty extracted single-rooted human teeth were de-coronated, endodonticallytreated, and followed by post space preparations in equal lengths. All prepared specimens were randomly divided into two groups (n=15/each) according to the type of post: Group 1. “GC Fiber Post” (GC); Group 2. “EverStick” (GC), Individually formed resin & fibers posts. In both groups, G-CEM LinkAce(GC) was used for posts cementing. Each post was held with moderate pressure and LinkAce(GC) was used for posts cementing. Each post was held with moderate pressure and tooth surfaces were light cured for 20 seconds (650mW/cm2). The exposed end of each post was coated with bonding agent (SchotchbondUniversal) and fixed in hexagonal steel coupling nut filled with Z250 composite, leaving about 3 mm gap to the tooth surface. The composite was light cured (20s) around the nut end. Treated teeth were kept in water (24hrs) prior to pull out testing. Each specimen was subjected to a tensile force parallel to the longitudinal axis of the posts (Instron, x-head speed 0.5mm/min) until post separation. Data were statistically analyzed using T-Test and ANOVA (significance set at 5%).Results: Mean Separations force (Newton) and SD of post systems is presented in table below:Results: Mean Separations force (Newton) and SD of post systems is presented in table below:Conclusions: Under the conditions of this study, prefabricated Fiber Posts exhibited significant higher retention forces and lower variance than EverStickposts.Table(s):Post systemNMean(Newons)Std DevCVEverStick Posts1598.9256.5457.15GC Fiber Post15185.6961.1632.94Disclosure Statement:The submitter must disclose the names of the organizations with which any author have a relationship, the nature of the relationship, and the clinical or research area involved.
